[savings type - $$; replacing your Saturday afternoon cinema movie with this]

Film-time again! In Lifehacksg#5, we talked about free film screenings at the Arts House. Thanks to our friendly contributor today, hear about another great free film festival the coming two weekends at the National Museum of Singapore!

In it's 10th anniversary this year, the Singapore Short Cuts features a proud selection of local short films, with a few local and world premieres this weekend. There will be an exciting line-up that presents a diverse production selection. Besides seasoned filmmakers, this year's film festival will also feature budding young artists such as recent SOTA graduates. Special mention for this year's Short Cuts - the session on 11th August will feature short films from Anthony Chen, who recently did Singapore proud by winning the Camera d'Or (best feature film) at the 66th Cannes Film Fest!

Sometimes we hear criticisms about the lack of talent in the local arts scene; but perhaps we should reach out to understand and appreciate what local artists are doing in the first place. For a start, Lifehacksg recommends for you to replace your $10 weekend afternoon movie ticket with this (free) short film festival!

Tickets should be obtained from the Stamford Visitor Services Counter at the National Museum. On screening day itself, free tickets will also be given out at the door.
